I love my FSQ, but it has very little backfocus. I also like to do narrowband imaging so I need more flexibility than the STL 5-position internal filterwheel allows. Finally, I need digital focusing. I had several custom adaptors made for me by Ashley Stevens of Precise Parts shown in the picture. There is a actually a fair amount of additional backfocus available if I chose to make an adaptor that mates the IFW directly to the back of the FSQ. I chose this method however since 1) it works, and 2) I also have a TOA-130 and mating to the 72mm adaptor allows me to bring it to proper backfocus with the 67 flattener in place as well. This arrangement facilitates switching between these two scopes which are my prime imaging scopes. |
